Idaho Falls is a moderate sized city in the state of Idaho. When people think of this state most often they likely imagine an extremely rural area. While most of the state doesn't have very many people located in one area, this city actually does have a great deal of things to do and see. It is a great place to make a vacation destination. You surely will find many activities that appeal to your interests and the vast majority that visit the area speak very highly of the natural aspects that surround the city as well.

One of the most unique things to do in Idaho Falls is the Wilderness Ridge Trail Llamas tour. There you will have the pleasure of riding on the back of llamas through various trails. Snake River Greenbelt in Idaho Falls

If you enjoy exploring new towns then you absolutely should check out the Snake River Greenbelt. It is a paved trail that follow 5 miles of the river. It will take you past some of the most popular restaurants and attractions in the city and can be enjoyed on foot or bicycle. It also passes through many private gardens that are sure to please the eye. During the summer there is a floating bridge to allow the trail to continue on to Freeman Park. Most notably, it will take you to the famous 600 foot waterfall, which is one of the most popular attractions in the city. If you like to be active during your vacations then you will love the fact that it provides access to the Idaho Falls Disc Golf Course. The best part is that this trail is absolutely free to enjoy and links to some of the most beautiful sights and interesting activities the city offers.

If you enjoy learning about the history of various places then you will absolutely love the Museum of Idaho. It had originally been created by local women who saw the need to bring some culture and knowledge to the then small town. Over the years they built up a collection largely using local items that had been donated to preserve the history of the area. You will find a wide variety of exhibits to enjoy that include everything from household items that have long since become obsolete to the holiday decor that has changed greatly through time.

Potatoes, huh?

As you likely already know, Idaho is famous around the world for their potato production. This has been a staple of their economy for many years and they have taken the opportunity to celebrate this part of their varied history. This celebration is through the Idaho Potato Museum. There you will find a number of exhibits that celebrate the history of the potato in the state, country and even around the world. Some exhibits include the largest potato chip in the world and a 1500 year old Peruvian vessel that was created specifically for the storage of potatoes. It is in a historical building from 1913 that was originally the Oregon Short Line Railroad Depot. They converted the building for the museum and also has the Potato Station Cafe which offers themed foods. 

Idaho Brewing Company

While you may not think of Idaho as offering breweries it actually has one of the most popular options in the area. The Idaho Brewing Company offers a wide variety of craft brews that are sure to please your senses. You can find everything from lagers to ales and much more with the 18 different options. It is situation on the Snake River so you can sip at your beer while enjoying magnificent scenic views. If you visit during the right time you can also catch live music, which only enhances the experience. For those that have an interest in the brewing of different types of beers you will love the tours that they offer throughout the day.
